OUR team

Each member of our staff considers themselves "called" by God to serve at Riverside Church. Their calling is demonstrated in their hard work and their love for people. 


    Grant is a Florida native. He graduated from Vero Beach High School and received his ministerial degree from Berean School of Ministry. He came to Riverside Church in 1988 as the Children's/Associate Pastor. As the church grew, he added Youth Pastor to his job description. Now he serves as Lead Pastor. Grant also serves the community as the Chaplain of the Sebastian Police Department. Grant has big dreams; and he loves to come alongside others and support them as they follow the dreams God has placed in their hearts. When Grant isn't at church, he enjoys reading biographies, walking to Dunkin' Donuts for his morning coffee and spending time with his family. He once ran a Disney Marathon and lived to tell about it.


    Mechelle is originally from Kentucky, but has lived in Florida for most of her life. In 1991, she and Grant were married. She has worked with the administration staff, since 1992, and now serves as Marketing Director. She has a desire to see others experience the joy and peace that comes from The Lord. She loves her family, singing, traveling, photography and going to the movies. She once ran a Disney Marathon and has the medal to prove it. She also enjoys writing her blog called, Rhyme, Reason & Real Life.


    Angie is a from Hollywood...Florida. She has been part of the Riverside Administration Team since 1996, when she began as a volunteer. Today she is the Church Administrator and the 180 Youth Pastor. She has a heart and desire to see young people following God and His plan for their lives. She enjoys traveling and hiking and has completed several Disney Marathons. Angie loves spending time with her family and her German Shepherd, Chrissa.


    Moses was born in The Bronx, New York and he is very proud of that! He serves Riverside Church as Worship Pastor and has been doing so, enthusiastically since 2006. He can also be seen leading worship or playing guitar at other events in our community. He loves Puerto Rican Food (especially flan), playing the guitar, driving, praising the Lord and spending time with his family.


    Sue was born in Kentucky, but has lived in Florida most of her life. She has been at Riverside Church since 1997 and now serves as Care Pastor and Receptionist. She not only greets each guest, but ministers to them as well. She has a passion for preaching and teaching the Word of God. Sue spends much of her time working or volunteering; but when she can, she enjoys gardening and spending time with her family at the beach or in the mountains. 

  • Orlando Dejesus

    Orlando was born in The Bronx, New York. He moved to Florida in 2012. Orlando serves as Pastor Grant's Executive Assistant and is also Head of Information TechnologyOrlando enjoys spending time with friends and family, being part of Riverside's Worship Team, reading and going to the movies. He is currently working toward becoming a Chaplain and will follow that path as The Lord leads.

  • Matthew & Darien hemmerlein

    Matthew and Darien are both graduates of The River School of Worship in Tampa, Florida. They both have a heart for people and a heart for the lost. Matthew serves as Associate Pastor and is in charge of the God Mobile Outreach. Matthew also leads worship for our student outreach, Oneighty. Matthew and Darien worked together to build a tiny home and they live there with their two daughters and their pet bird, Chippy. 

  • Lee & Morgan Cooper

    Lee and Morgan are both natives of Florida. They serve together as Riverside Kids' Directors. Lee enjoys sports, being outdoors, reading and gaming. Morgan enjoys being a homemaker, graphic design and calligraphy. Lee and Morgan both enjoy going to the movies and spending time with their son and their little Boston Terrier, Emma.

  • Vicki smith

    Vicki is a Florida native. She has attended Riverside for over 20 years and now serves as the Head Custodian and does her work as unto the Lord. There is something on the church schedule every day and Vicki and her team make sure the church is clean for every event. This is quite a commitment and involves faithfulness and flexibility. Vicki is also committed to her family and spends as much time with them as she can. She was a homeschool mom for several years, but currently enjoys being a grandma.
